According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the time between consuming a contaminated food and feeling sick is typically 2-3 days, and sometimes even longer, depending on the toxin or pathogen ingested. Symptoms may differ among the different types of foodborne illnesses. Common symptoms are nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea.
